This ambitious initiatives are tailored to meet the needs of communities in the southeast region, fostering sustainable development and social equity.
We recognize that achieving this would require a multifaceted approach targeting areas that directly impact individuals and communities. By focusing on education, health care, gender equality, and economic opportunities, we aim to create a wholesome model of development that empowers people and uplifts communities.
OBJECTIVE OF THIS PROJECT
Access to Education:
Many youths in the Southeast face financial barriers that hinder their pursuit of higher education. By providing scholarships and financial support, we aim to eliminate these financial barriers and enable young people achieve their academic goals, thereby contributing to an educated and skilled workforce. In support of this goal, the GCF has generously and continually paid school fees for over 100 students in universities, across all five Southeast states
Health care for Women and Girls:
Access to quality health care still remains a significant challenge, especially for women and girls in under resourced communities. Through our medical outreach programs, conducted in collaboration with STEM focused foundations, we seek to provide essential medical services, improving overall health and empowering girls and women to lead healthier lives. We plan to collaborate with a Community Health Intervention project, an initiative addressing the dire cancer survival outcomes in Low and Middle Income Countries (LMICs), with a particular focus on Sub-Saharan Africa. This proposed community health intervention project aims to tackle this challenge head-on, comprising of health education, early detection screenings, navigation to essential treatment support, and provision of essential needs for health promotion.
No Poverty &Decent work and Economic Growth
We aim to stimulate economic growth and create work opportunities, by fostering educational attainment and supporting creative industries. Our initiatives are designed to equip individuals with the right skills and resources needed to succeed in the ever evolving market, thereby promoting sustainable development. For instance, the creative industry often lacks accessible resources for promising, upcoming artists. Gaius Chibueze Foundation through our music entertainment subsidiary, Eastside music, offers free music recording sessions to nurture upcoming artists and promote cultural expression. Artists have the opportunity to receive investments of $10k-$100k for the promotion and distribution of their work. This in turn, helps them gain recognition and potentially transform their artistic passions into viable careers.
Also, we aim to equip individuals with skills and opportunities for sustainable economic development and job creation. The GCF through our Tech sector, has given out scholarships to over 100 students and currently runs free tech skills development program with over 16 registered students, providing them with a monthly stipend of 50,000 to cover any expenses associated with this opportunity.
Gender Equality
Gender inequality persists as a significant barrier to the full potential of women and girls. We aim to achieve gender equality and empower all women and girls, with a focus on ending discrimination, violence, and harmful practices against women and girls, ensuring equal opportunities for leadership at all levels of decision-making.
Through our 'The Women Impact 360' initiative, we focus on empowering female entrepreneurs who have existing businesses or need capital to start new ventures. This program not only provides financial support but also offers ongoing mentorship and training to promote grassroots poverty alleviation and ensure that women have the necessary tools to succeed and thrive. By addressing gender disparity, we aim to create a more inclusive and equitable society where everyone has the opportunity to reach their full potential.
